Give Your Teen the Gift of a Straighter Smile with Invisalign

Teens who want to straighten their smiles without a mouthful of metal often find that Invisalign® Teen provides a comfortable and effective alternative. With the clear aligner system offered by Invisalign, you can achieve a straighter smile without the hassle and discomfort of traditional brackets and wires. At our Albuquerque, NM, dental practice, Dr. Michael Haight and Dr. Rebecca Case work closely with our teen patients to create straight, beautifully healthy smiles.

A Personalized Treatment Plan

When you and your teen first come into our office, you will meet with Dr. Haight or Dr. Case to discuss your options. They can answer any questions you or your teen have about the treatment process at this time. Then, we will take scans of your teen’s smile using our advanced 3-D computer imaging system. Using this technology, we can create a precise, personalized treatment plan that maps out the exact movements of your child’s teeth. We can also preview the expected results.

Convenient, Comfortable Treatment

Based on the information gathered in your initial consultation, we will design a series of aligners specially tailored to your teen’s needs. The Invisalign clear aligners are custom-made using SmartTrack®, an advanced BPA-free plastic material. During treatment, your teen will wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day, removing them only to drink, eat, brush, and floss.

With Invisalign Teen, you get up to six complimentary replacement trays.

About every two weeks, the aligners are replaced with the next set in the series. Each aligner is crafted to apply consistent pressure and gently guide your teen’s teeth into place. We recommend bringing your child into our office about every six weeks so we can check on their progress and provide additional aligners. Generally, treatment with Invisalign Teen lasts six to 15 months.

Created with Teens in Mind

Invisalign Teen was created to address the specific needs of teenaged smiles.

Replacement Trays

We know your teen leads an active life and is always on the move, which is why with Invisalign Teen, you get up to six complimentary replacement trays.

Easy-to-Track Compliance

We also know you want to be sure your child is wearing their aligners and keeping up with treatment. Invisalign Teen aligners have two blue dots which fade depending on how much wear they receive. These compliance-indicator tabs show you, and our team, how much the aligners were worn in a two-week period.

Special Design

In addition, Invisalign Teen comes with special features designed to allow your child’s teeth to erupt. Generally, teens are still missing a few of their adult molars when undergoing orthodontic treatment. The second premolars and molars erupt around age 11-13, while the third molars, also known as wisdom teeth, may not come in until age 21 or later. Invisalign Teen aligners have flexible flaps to ensure your child’s smile continues to form normally.

Crooked teeth can cause oral health issues down the line, such as tooth decay and jaw pain. By investing in your child’s smile now, you can protect against other concerns in the future. In addition, having a beautiful, straight smile can improve your teen’s confidence as they grow.
